Meet Jill

writer, speaker, pastor, mom, wife--all together on a big, messy adventure of whatever God says comes next. http://jillmarierichardson.com/ My somewhat unnatural love for hobbits and elves comes from my time as a literature teacher and as a lifelong reader of great stories. I also loves an epic challenge and a chance for grace wherever they exist. Other favorite topics for writing, speaking, and Facebook ranting include: grace (the more the better), the terrible messages we send to teenagers, risk taking and fighting fear (I am a particular expert on fear), being a Christian in a post-Christian world (without being a jerk), writing, missions, and travel. I have a BA in English and Education and an MDiv in theology and am an ordained minister who has served as a worship, preaching, and discipleship pastor. I've also published five books, as well as articles in national magazines such as FamilyFun, Discipleship Journal, and Today's Christian Woman. I enjoy (read that, LOVE) speaking on a variety of topics. I hate multiple paragraphs that being with "I." Almost an empty nester, having survived and loved raising three wonderful girls. I have also survived thyroid cancer and a kidney transplant. I love chocolate marzipan, cats, the Cubs, teenagers, Tolkien , Lewis, Hugo, and Austen, fish tacos, my family, and God. Not necessarily in that order.
